Life on Cruise Ships and Brief Information

We can describe cruise ships as floating deluxe hotels equipped with the latest technology. You can follow the daily schedule of activities from the ship’s newspaper, distributed to your room every evening. You can think of this newspaper as a bulletin containing all the information about what will take place on the ship that day, including all activities on board, the weather, information about the port of call, and contact details for reservations at specialty restaurants or the spa. The most widely spoken language on board is English’. If you are on a program with a Turkish-speaking guide, our guide will assist you with everything from the ship’s bulletins to restaurant menus and prepare special bulletins for you, our valued guests.

When boarding the ship, you must check in at the check-in desk located at the ship’s entrance, where you will hand in your luggage and passport and provide your credit card details (a deposit will be taken for possible expenses). Once your passport is handed in at the beginning of the journey, it will only be returned to you at the end of the tour. After handing your passport over to the ship, you will be given a Boarding-Card. You will use this card as your passport, your cabin key, and for all transactions you make on board. The Boarding-Card contains various details, such as your first and last name, cabin number, and dining seating.

There is a dress code for passengers on board. Since the ship has special events such as the captain’s welcome dinner and gala night, we kindly ask you to bring elegant and classic outfits. You can follow events such as the gala night, welcome dinner, and other special functions through the ship’s newspaper mentioned above. The dress code is also indicated in the bulletin.

On cruise ships, there are buffet restaurants where you can eat at any time for 20 hours a day. In addition to breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the main restaurant included in your fare, there are fast-food outlets and buffets. There are also specialty restaurants on board, such as a Thai restaurant and a steakhouse. You can make reservations at these restaurants in advance and enjoy special dishes prepared by expert chefs. Themed restaurants are subject to an additional charge.

Cruise ships offer many facilities and activities for families with children. There are children’s pools and kids’ clubs where children can spend time on board.

Cruise ships are designed by engineers not to rock during travel, and the ship captains are specially trained. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of the ship, including your cabin. You may smoke on the open deck only in areas where there are no signs prohibiting smoking and where ashtrays are provided. Doctors and nurses are available on the ships. Ships also have accessible cabins.
