Tour Program
Day 1 Istanbul – Basel – Strasbourg – Eguisheim – Colmar – Kaysersberg – Riquewihr – Strasbourg

Meeting in front of the Turkish Airlines counter at Istanbul Airport international departures terminal 3 hours before the flight. Following baggage, ticket and passport procedures, departure for Basel at 07.30 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1923. After arriving in Basel at 09.40 local time, we will depart by our vehicle waiting for us at the airport for Strasbourg, one of France’s most beautiful cities and the pearl of the Alsace region. While exploring Strasbourg, you will feel as though you are travelling through history in one of Europe’s largest cobbled medieval districts. With its fairytale-like nature and historical buildings, wooden houses, medieval historic churches, cathedrals and numerous works of art, it is a place well worth seeing. Strasbourg, which also has historical significance as the place where the French national anthem, “La Marseillaise”, was written, appears as a city where Alsatian culture and French architecture blend together. During our city tour, Strasbourg Cathedral, Rohan Palace, Kléber Square and the Petit France district, decorated with traditional Alsatian houses, will be among the places to see. Following our tour, guests who wish may join the optional tour of the Enchanting Alsace’s Fairytale Villages (Eguisheim & Colmar & Kaysersberg & Riquewihr). (100 Euros) On our tour, during which we will want to take photographs at every opportunity from beginning to end, our first visit will be to Egusheim. Egusheim, which received the title of ‘’Favourite French Village’’ in 2013, is a village where history and nature dance together. Its colourful houses, reflecting the typical architecture of the Alsace region, create Equesheim’s postcard-like appearance. Following our tour, we depart for Colmar, famous for its medieval historical buildings, Gothic-style churches and colourful houses. As we stroll through Colmar’s remarkably well-preserved streets, the places to see include St. Martin Cathedral, built entirely of pink stone; Little Venice, which resembles Italy’s city of Venice with its small canals; Maison Pfister, one of Colmar’s oldest houses; and Maison des Tetes, a Renaissance building decorated with hundreds of faces.  Our third stop on the tour is Kaysersberg. Kaysersberg is an enchanting part of the Alsace region, as a medieval town in France. It is famous for its colourful houses, narrow streets and historic character. In particular, Château de Kaysersberg, dating from the 13th century, is one of the town’s most prominent landmarks. The Sainte-Croix Church, located in the centre of the town, attracts attention with its Gothic architecture. Following our tour, our final stop will be Riquewihr, one of the most enchanting towns in Alsace, featuring numerous half-timbered houses that give the town its charm. This historic village enchants its visitors with its old houses decorated with colourful flowers, narrow streets and medieval character surrounded by ramparts. During our tour, we will also see the remains of Riquewihr Castle and feel the medieval atmosphere by walking along the village’s old ramparts. Following our tour, transfer to our hotel in Strasbourg. Overnight at our hotel in or around Strasbourg.
