Need to Know

Important Notes;
•    For this tour, a passport valid for 6 months, covering the minimum tour duration, is required.
•    LİDYA TOUR acts as an intermediary between the airline and the passenger and is subject to the 28.09.1955 Hague Protocol. 
•    During registration, the name as stated in the passport, date of birth, and passport number must be entered into the system. Airline tickets are issued according to this information. No-show fees arising from the cancellation or changes of airline tickets due to incorrect information will be charged to the guests.
•    The city where the plane lands may vary. LİDYA TOUR cannot be held responsible for schedule changes or possible delays made by airlines.
•    Airline rules apply to group tickets, and according to the group ticket rules, if the outbound flight is not used, the return flight cannot be used either.
•    The standard baggage allowance on most flights departing from Türkiye is 20Kg. This allowance may vary depending on the airline and the destination country. On domestic flights within the countries visited, this allowance may decrease to 15 Kg’s. Excess baggage weight/price rules are determined by the airlines and are not the responsibility of LİDYA TOUR.
•    If there are not enough participants for the package tour, the consumer will be notified of the tour cancellation 20 days in advance. 
•    The tour route specified in the tour program is an example route, and changes may be made to the tour itinerary. City sightseeing tours may be carried out on the following day/days depending on the arrival time in the city. The excursions specified in the programs may, at the guide’s discretion and for any reason, be conducted on another day apart from the specified day/days.

•    Optional tours along the route take place if at least 10 people from the group participate. Guests who do not wish to participate will be required to wait at the rest stop.

•    Museum and archaeological site entrance fees are not included in the prices.     
•    LİDYA TOUR reserves the right to change hotel names, provided that the star category remains the same.
•    All hotel names, etc. (and similar) specified in the programs are written as examples in terms of star category and distance. This does not mean that accommodation will be provided at the hotel with the specified name.
•    Triple rooms include an extra bed, and the 3rd bed is smaller than a standard bed and / or is an additional foldable bed. 
•    When children under the age of 18, who are not considered adults, do not participate in the tour with one or both of their parents, the required letters of consent must be carried by the individuals during the journey.

Tour Program
Day 1: Istanbul – Basel – Strasbourg

Meeting in front of the Turkish Airlines counter in the international departures terminal of Istanbul Airport 3 hours before the flight. Following baggage, ticket and passport procedures, departure for Basel at 08.50 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1923. Upon arrival in Basel at 10.00 local time, our city tour begins with our vehicle waiting for us at the airport. Basel, Switzerland’s third most populous city after Zurich and Geneva, is a magnificent city that combines modern and historical textures and contains many treasures despite its small area. During our city tour, Basel Cathedral, where the tomb of the famous Dutch Renaissance writer Erasmus is located, the city’s main square Marktplatz, the Government Building and Hotel Les Trois Rois are among the places to be seen. Following our tour, departure for Strasbourg, one of the most beautiful cities in France and the pearl of the Alsace region. While exploring Strasbourg, you will feel as though you are journeying through history in one of Europe’s largest cobbled medieval districts. With its fairytale-like nature and historical buildings, wooden houses, medieval historical churches, cathedrals and numerous works of art, it is a place well worth seeing. Strasbourg also holds historical importance as the place where the French national anthem, “La Marseillaise,” was written, and presents itself as a city where Alsatian culture is blended with French architecture. During our city tour, Strasbourg Cathedral, Rohan Palace, Place Kléber and the Petit France district, adorned with traditional Alsatian houses, are also among the places to be seen. Following our tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel in Strasbourg or its surroundings.
 

Day 2 Strasbourg – Eguisheim – Colmar – Kaysersberg – Riquewihr – Strasbourg

Following breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional Magnificent Alsace’s Fairy-Tale Villages (Eguisheim & Colmar & Kaysersberg & Riquewihr) tour. (110 Euros) Throughout our tour, during which we will want to take photographs at every opportunity, the first place we will visit is Egusheim. Awarded the title of ‘’Favorite French Village’’ in 2013, Egusheim is a village where history and nature dance together. Its colorful houses, reflecting the typical architecture of the Alsace region, create Equesheim’s postcard-like appearance. Following our tour, we will depart for Colmar, famous for its medieval historical buildings, Gothic-style churches, and colorful houses. While strolling through Colmar’s remarkably well-preserved streets, the St. Martin Cathedral, built entirely of pink stone; Little Venice, which with its small canals is reminiscent of Italy’s city of Venice; Maison Pfister, one of Colmar’s oldest houses; and Maison des Tetes, a Renaissance building decorated with faces, are among the places to be seen.  The third stop on our tour is Kaysersberg. Kaysersberg is a charming part of the Alsace region, a medieval town in France. It is famous for its colorful houses, narrow streets, and historic character. In particular, the Château de Kaysersberg castle, dating back to the 13th century, is one of the town’s most prominent landmarks. The Sainte-Croix Church, located in the town center, attracts attention with its Gothic architecture. Following our visit, we proceed to our final stop, Riquewihr, one of the most enchanting towns in Alsace, featuring numerous half-timbered houses that give the town its charm. This historic village fascinates visitors with its old houses adorned with colorful flowers, narrow streets, and medieval character surrounded by ramparts. During our tour, we will also see the remains of Riquewihr Castle and feel the medieval atmosphere by walking along the village’s old ramparts. Following our tour, transfer to our hotel in Strasbourg. Overnight at our hotel in Strasbourg or the surrounding area.
 

Day 3 Strasbourg – Heidelberg – Baden-Baden – Outlet Center – Strasbourg

Free time after breakfast at the hotel. Guests who wish may join the optional Splendid Germany Duo (Heidelberg & Baden Baden & Outlet Center) tour. (110 Euros) On our tour, we depart for our first stop, Heidelberg. The streets, squares, and buildings of this city will take you on a journey through time, making you feel the Middle Ages at every corner. A tranquil, elegant, and refined city, Heidelberg will welcome you with the harmony of its architecture and colors. During our city tour here, Hauptstrasse, Marktplatz Square, the Old Bridge, and Heidelberg Castle are among the sights to be seen. Following our tour, our second stop is Baden Baden, an oxygen-rich destination immersed in nature, a center of culture and arts, with countless amenities including thermal baths and even one of Europe’s most famous casinos. After exploring Baden Baden, a unique overseas travel destination that has inspired many famous writers and composers, we will have free time at the outlet center, where many famous brands are gathered together. Following our tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
 

Day 4 Strasbourg – Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen – Zurich – Lucerne – Strasbourg

Free time after breakfast at the hotel. Guests who wish may join the optional Magnificent Schaffhausen Rhine Falls and Swiss Cities (Rhine Falls & Zurich & Lucerne) tour. (130 Euros) Our first stop is the natural wonder of the Rhine Falls, which is the largest waterfall in Europe, measuring 150 meters wide and 23 meters high. Embraced by the powerful branches of the Rhine River, this place is a paradise where you will find peace while watching the dance of the deep blue waters. After our fascinating walk, accompanied by the power of the water and the impressive scenery, our second stop is Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city, which welcomes millions of visitors every year with its historic center, stunning Gothic churches, and historic buildings. After seeing the Grossmünster and Fraumünster Churches and St. Peter’s Church, home to Europe’s largest clock tower, we tour Bahnhofstrasse, considered the city’s shopping center. After our tour, we travel to Lucerne, a historic city located in central Switzerland at the foothills of the Alps. In this enchanting city, after seeing the Lion Monument, built in memory of the 800 Swiss soldiers who were martyred while protecting King Louis XVI and his family, the Chapel Bridge, and the magnificent view of Lake Lucerne, we conclude our tour and transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel in or around Strasbourg.
 

Day 5 Strasbourg – Freiburg – Basel – Istanbul

After breakfast, checking out of the rooms and departing for Freiburg. Freiburg, the fourth-largest city in Germany, is a medieval city steeped in history, located near the Black Forest and enchanting its visitors with its natural beauty. During the city tour we will take here, the Münster Cathedral, one of the city’s symbols and finest examples of Gothic architecture, Markthalle (Covered Market), Münsterplatz (Grand Square), Rathausplatz, Kaiser Joseph Street, Augustiner Platz, Adelhauser Platz and Gerberau are among the places to be seen. Following our tour, departure for Basel Airport. After baggage, ticket and passport procedures, departure for Istanbul at 18.05 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1926. Arrival at 23.15 local time and the end of our tour.
