DAY 1 ISTANBUL – DOHA
Meet with our valued guests in front of the Qatar Airways counter at the International Terminal of Istanbul Airport 3 hours before the flight. Following baggage and ticket procedures, fly to Doha on a scheduled Qatar Airways flight. We spend midnight on the plane.
DAY 2 DOHA – BEIJING
After midnight, fly to Beijing on a scheduled Qatar Airways flight. Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic Beijing city tour. During our tour, we will discover modern Beijing, passing by the Bird’s Nest Stadium and Water Cube structures, which were built for the 2008 Olympic Games and draw attention with their architecture. Following our tour, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 3 BEIJING
Free time after breakfast. Guests who wish may join the Beijing Combined Tour to be organized by our guide as an extra (115€ per person) (Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City & Temple of Heaven & Wangfujing Street). During our tour, we will have the opportunity to get to know the historical and modern faces of the Chinese capital up close. We begin by visiting Tiananmen Square, one of the most important points in Chinese history and political life. We then tour the Forbidden City, one of the most important symbols of China’s imperial history. This vast palace complex, which hosted the Ming and Qing Dynasties for approximately 500 years, is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List with its magnificent architecture, spacious courtyards and historical structures. Accompanied by our guide, we will discover the living quarters of the emperors and learn important details about China’s deep-rooted past. Continuing our tour, we visit the Temple of Heaven, where emperors prayed to the heavens during the Ming and Qing periods for good harvests and prosperity. This impressive structure, whose round and square architectural forms symbolize the sky and the earth, is among Beijing’s most important cultural heritage sites with its extensive gardens and peaceful atmosphere. Our tour will end on Wangfujing Street, one of the city’s liveliest shopping and pedestrian streets. Free time after our tour and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 4 BEIJING
Free time after breakfast. Guests who wish may join the Juyongguan Great Wall of China & Hutong Neighborhoods Tour to be organized by our guide as an extra (100€ per person). We begin our tour by visiting the Great Wall of China, one of China’s most magnificent structures. The Great Wall, the most important defensive structure in Chinese history, is also of great importance from the perspective of Turkish history. Built over centuries to protect China’s northern borders, this enormous structure is regarded as tangible evidence of the struggles between the Huns (Asian Huns), Göktürks, Uyghurs and other Central Asian Turkic communities and China. The Great Wall was conceived as a defensive line against raids carried out by Turkic tribes from the Central Asian steppes; in this respect, it has become a historical symbol reflecting the military, political and cultural dimensions of Turkish–Chinese relations. We then visit Juyong Pass, which stands out with its strategic importance and impressive scenery. This historic defensive line extending between the mountains was built over centuries to protect China against external attacks. During our walk along this section of the Wall, we will enjoy unique views while learning important information about Chinese history and military architecture. Continuing our tour, we explore the Hutong neighborhoods, with a history of approximately 500 years, where we can get to know Beijing’s traditional way of life up close. During our visit to the Hutongs, famous for their narrow streets, courtyard houses and authentic atmosphere, we will gain a different perspective on China’s daily life and cultural heritage. DAY 5 BEIJING – XI’AN
We leave the hotel with a breakfast box to be provided at the hotel and then depart for Xi’an by high-speed train. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and free time. Guests who wish may join the Xi’an Wonders Tour [City Walls & Muslim Quarter and Xi’an Great Mosque & Bell and Drum Towers] to be organized by our guide as an extra (100€ per person). Our first stop is the South Gate of Xi’an City Wall, one of the city’s landmarks. Built during the Tang and Ming Dynasties, this magnificent city gate is an important part of the city’s defense system, and during our walk along it we will have the opportunity to observe Xi’an’s historical texture up close. We then visit the Muslim Quarter, where we can see the colorful and lively side of city life. Famous for its narrow streets, authentic Chinese-Islamic architecture, delicious street food and souvenir shops, this area is an ideal stop for getting to know Xi’an’s cultural diversity up close. Our tour continues with a visit to the “Bell and Drum Towers,” two important historical landmarks of the city. Located in the center of the city, these towers were used throughout history to measure time and protect the city. Our final stop will be the “Xi’an Great Mosque,” one of the oldest and largest mosques in China. Built during the Tang Dynasty, the mosque is notable for its unique structure combining Chinese architecture with Islamic elements. Here, by touring both the worship areas and the historical courtyards, we will be able to see the deep traces of Islamic culture in Xi’an. Following our tour, transfer to the hotel. DAY 6 XI’AN
Free time after breakfast at the hotel. Guests who wish may join the Terracotta Army Museum & Big Wild Goose Pagoda & DaTang Tour to be organized by our guide as an extra (100€ per person). During our tour, we begin discovering China’s historical and cultural riches. Our first stop will be the world-famous Qin Terracotta Army Museum. This magnificent army of statues, created in the 3rd century BC for China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, consists of thousands of soldiers, horses and chariots, each crafted with unique details. Accompanied by our guide, we will learn about the emperor’s tomb and the historical significance of the army up close. We then visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the important structures of the Tang Dynasty period. This temple and pagoda are among the important symbols of China’s Buddhist heritage. During our walk around the pagoda, we will breathe in the historical atmosphere and have the opportunity to take photographs in the surrounding gardens. Our final stop on the tour will be DaTang Everbright City, where we can experience modern city life. In this area, famous for its wide pedestrian streets, shopping areas and colorful lighting, we will have the opportunity to both relax and shop. Free time after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 7 XI’AN – SHANGHAI
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Shanghai on a scheduled local airline flight. Upon arrival, enjoy a short panoramic Shanghai city tour. During our tour, we will see The Bund, which has become a symbol of the city, Nanjing Road, one of the city’s most beautiful streets, and magnificent colonial-era buildings accompanied by views of the Huangpu River. Free time after our tour. Guests who wish may join the Huangpu River Boat Tour to be organized by our guide as an extra (50€ per person). During our tour, we will discover the city under the lights. DAY 8 SHANGHAI
Free time after breakfast at the hotel. Guests who wish may join the Shanghai Combined Tour [Yuyuan Garden & The Jade Buddha Temple & Xintiandi & Silk Market & Huaihai Street] to be organized by our guide as an extra (100€ per person). We begin our tour at Yuyuan Garden and Bazaar, one of the structures that best reflects classical Chinese garden architecture. As we walk among its finely crafted pavilions, tranquil ponds and elegant stone bridges, we will have the opportunity to experience the aesthetic spirit of traditional Chinese garden art up close. Afterwards, we visit The Jade Buddha Temple, one of Shanghai’s iconic religious structures. At the temple, we will see Buddha statues carved from white jade brought from Myanmar and possessing great spiritual value, experiencing this sacred atmosphere. We then move on to the Xintiandi district, where historic Shanghai houses and contemporary city life blend together. During our short walk through this area, notable for its stylish cafés, distinctive shops and restaurants, we will feel the modern face of the city. At the end of our tour, we offer free time for shopping at the Silk Market, famous for its high-quality and reasonably priced silk products. Here you can find special souvenirs for your loved ones. Following our tour, we provide free time on Huaihai Street, one of the city’s busiest shopping streets, where you can find a variety of beautiful brands. Following our tour, transfer to the hotel. DAY 9 SHANGHAI
We begin the day with breakfast at our hotel, then check out and have free time. Guests who wish may join the Zhujiajiao Water Town & AP Plaza Shopping Tour to be organized by our guide as an extra (65€ per person). We set off for Zhujiajiao Water Town, the first stop on our tour. With a history of approximately 600 years, this special settlement is known as the “Venice of Shanghai” due to its network of water canals and invites visitors into a fascinating atmosphere where the past and present intertwine. Traditional Chinese houses stretching along narrow cobbled streets, façades decorated with delicate woodwork and elegant arched bridges give the town the appearance of an open-air museum. Traditional boats gliding quietly along the canals are among the most beautiful details complementing the tranquil spirit of the village. Reflections of lanterns on the water, the scent of incense and traditional melodies coming from afar turn Zhujiajiao into an experience that is not only seen but also felt. Historic teahouses, antique shops and small workshops along the way offer visitors delightful moments of discovery with silk products, handmade ceramics and traditional works of art. This water town, carrying traces of the past in every corner, creates a sense of a journey beyond time. Following our visit, we proceed to AP Plaza, one of Shanghai’s most popular shopping destinations. In this market, known for its wide range of products and affordable prices, we will have the opportunity to shop among many alternatives, from leather goods and electronic items to watches and Chinese silk. Following our tour, free time and transfer to Shanghai Airport in the evening.
DAY 10 SHANGHAI – DOHA – ISTANBUL
Following our baggage and ticket procedures, we depart for Doha on a scheduled Qatar Airways flight. Upon arrival in Doha, depart for Istanbul on a scheduled Qatar Airways flight. Upon arrival, our tour and services come to an end.
