DAY 2 MADRID
Breakfast at the hotel in the morning, followed by free time. Guests who wish may participate in the optional Toledo Tour (80 Euros). Toledo is a true open-air museum and the former capital of Spain, and is one of the most important cities on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Its most magnificent cathedral in the country, housing works by world-famous painters, has become a rival to the world’s leading museums. Known as the city of El Greco, Toledo has managed to remain unchanged since the 16th century. With buildings bearing traces of Roman, Visigothic, Arab, Gothic and Renaissance architecture, narrow streets, El Greco’s paintings, typical pastry shops, Damascene stores and, of course, its famous cathedral, it is a tourist crossroads. Another tradition in Toledo, dating back to the time when the Arabs conquered the city, is the production of marzipan. A visit to Toledo cannot be considered complete without tasting this mouth-watering confection. Following our walk through the Jewish quarter, we depart for Madrid. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 3 MADRID – BARCELONA
